Israeli applicants register here. Please consult the application instructions before proceeding. The registration process is in Hebrew; if you have difficulty, contact the Program Coordinator to set a meeting for Hebrew application assistance.
CV or resume should be up to date. Most applicants choose to submit one to two pages reflecting academic, personal, and professional experiences relevant to the study of global migration and policy.
Statement of Purpose (written in English) explains your motivation for enrolling in the program (1-3 pages in length).
The statement should include the following:
- your interest and purpose in pursuing the M.A. in Migration Studies,
- how the program fits into your academic and professional goals,
- how you will contribute to the program and class dynamics.
One letter of recommendation is required. Reference must be from an academic source. Letters should be sent directly from the referee to migration@tauex.tau.ac.il.
- Applicants must submit official copies of transcripts from all accredited post-secondary academic institutions attended (undergraduate transcripts and if relevant graduate transcripts).
Transcripts in languages other than English
- If your transcripts are not written in English, you may need to acquire a translated copy. Submit your official transcript following the above guidelines, and the program will notify you if your transcript requires translation. In this case, the translated copy will need to be notarized for authenticity.
Transcript FAQs
- If you studied in more than one academic institution during the course of obtaining your undergraduate degree, be sure to submit a copy of your academic transcripts from each individual institution.
- If applying with incomplete transcripts (for example, during the final semester of your academic degree) you may send in a copy. However, upon graduation, final official transcripts must be sent from your university indicating your final GPA and confirmation of graduation.
GPA Requirements
- The minimum cumulative GPA for undergraduate transcripts is 80 on the Israeli grading scale, or its equivalent (e.g. 3.0 on the American 4.0 scale).
- Applicants with a cumulative GPA found to be below the program's minimum requirement, as evaluated by our Registrar, may still be considered. Applicants in this category are strongly encouraged to submit additional documentation supporting their candidacy, including but not limited to an explanation of previous academic performance.
- For an unofficial conversion of your undergraduate GPA, visit http://www.foreigncredits.com/Resources/GPA-Calculator/. Only the evaluation provided by Tel Aviv University's Registrar will be considered in reviewing an application.
Applicants must submit a copy of diploma(s) earned at accredited institutions of higher education. A scan or photocopy is sufficient for application purposes. However, note that you must to bring your original diploma at the start of the program.
