Punjab Projects
There are two projects in Punjab. The first, in water reduction for rice cultivation, is a holistic study examining the ripple effects on crop yield, soil health, and even the farmers' traditional practices. The project pioneers the use of water meters on tube-wells, a first in the region. This crucial step not only aids in monitoring groundwater extraction but also helps in analyzing the efficiency of water usage. The second, focused on wastewater, is meant to to treat and reuse this wastewater, transforming a hazard into a resource. Without relying on extensive infrastructure, the team has sampled hundreds of wastewater ponds across the region. The team is exploring groundbreaking solutions for reusing treated wastewater in irrigation, paving the way for sustainable water management practices that could revolutionize agriculture in Punjab.
