Taught by Mrs. Susan Podziba (Harvard University), a world renowned expert in Conflict Resolution and Mediation
Susan Podziba, a public policy mediator for more than 30 years, has designed and mediated scores of cases across the policy spectrum for clients including the United States Departments of Commerce, Defense, Education, Labor, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, Interior, and Transportation, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Senate, U.S. Institute for Peace, United Nations, The World Bank, British Council, Netherlands Organization for Applied Scientific Research, Emilia Romagna Regional Authority of Italy, and Negotiation Strategies Institute of Jerusalem.
Workshop Abstract:
Public policy mediators assist parties engaged in complex conflicts that are rooted in long held, differing perspectives and interests. Within the context of strategic processes designed from situational assessments, mediators work to initiate and sustain productive negotiations to build actionable agreements. During the workshop, Susan Podziba will describe components of policy mediation use brief exercises to illustrate particular tools and strategies.
