Statement from Program Director, 17 July 2014
The following was sent to our incoming students for the 2014-2015 academic year
No doubt you are following the news from the region, and no doubt some of you might have questions if not concerns. Below, I'll share with you some of the information that we've already been sharing with the current students.
Life in Tel Aviv-Yafo continues as well - buses are running, cafes and restaurants are still busy, and the city's famed 24-hour lifestyle continues.
We have always been in daily contact with our students, and continue to make ourselves available on and off campus.
I realize that perhaps this is not the situation which you imagined when you signed up for the program, but you are coming to study Conflict Resolution, in the Middle East, and more than ever we need more trained facilitators and mediators. There are few other places in the world where you will be able to study an active conflict, in safety and with direct access to the many actors involved.
I encourage you all to start talking with each other, and you are also invited to speak with our current students as to how they are incorporating the ongoing situation into their academic studies.
We are looking forward to seeing you all in a few months' time.
Feel free to be in touch with us, we are always available by phone and email.
Best,
Mr. Jay Rosen
Director, International Program in Conflict Resolution and Mediation
