Overview

Conflict Resolution and Mediation students boast a range of academic, demographic, and professional backgrounds. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree (or master’s degree) from an accredited institution with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, or 80 on a 100-point scale. Applicants with a cumulative GPA between 2.5-2.9 or 75-79%, may be considered but require approval from the Faculty's Academic Committee. Applicants with several years of academic and/or professional experience after obtaining their first degree are given preference.

The program seeks self-motivated students who can create connections between the topics presented and their personal interest in conflict resolution. Classroom participation is an integral aspect of the program's educational approach, and incoming students are accepted with the expectation that they will contribute in kind to their fellow classmates' education. 

Application Process

Applicants should complete the online application available on the student portal. Application requirements include:

• Two letters of recommendation

• TOEFL,IELTS or Cambridge exam scores*
• Personal essay
• Photograph
• Passport copy
• Application fee
• Health Declaration

*Required if English is not your native language. If English is your native language or you have a previous academic degree that was taught in English, you do not need a TOEFL or IELTS exam. 

The program emphasizes its interdisciplinary approach and therefore accepts students from all undergraduate fields or majors from accredited institutions of higher education. Consequently, the personal essay is a major component of the application. The essay should demonstrate your interest and purpose in pursuing the Conflict Resolution and Mediation Program; how this program fits into your overall professional growth; how you will contribute to the program and class dynamics; the added value you will bring to the student body; and your leadership and creativity skills.

The application process also includes an interview component. Interviews are conducted in person or via Skype call. International applicants who are planning to be in Israel prior to completing their application are strongly advised to schedule an appointment with the International Program in Conflict Resolution and Mediation team while they are in Israel.

Application Deadlines and Wait-list Information

The application portal for the 2024/2025 academic year is now open

There are three application deadlines and three corresponding acceptance periods. Please note that there is no advantage to applying for one deadline over another; applying earlier does not increase an applicant’s odds of being accepted. Applicants are selected based upon their merits and potential, not by the submission date of their application. However, if you plan to apply for a room in the dormitories, you must be confirmed in the program by March 31st so should apply for the February 15th deadline.

• Application deadline #3: August 31st 

If you are applying for a scholarship that requires acceptance in the program before or after these dates, please let us know and we will do our best to review your application as quickly as possible. 

All applicants should verify if the country which issued their passport allows them to travel to Israel.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

TAU International is committed to making education accessible to all students, regardless of their financial circumstances. Several sources of funding are available, including need-based tuition assistance, delayed payment plans, and external scholarships. TAU also participates in U.S. federal student loan programs.
