Prof. Paul Romer visits TAU
The International Graduate School of Social Sciences is proud to host a winner of the 2018 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences.
Just landed in Israel and already meeting with our distinguished research students: Prof. Paul Romer, winner of the 2018 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences, an expert in economic growth and one of the most quoted economists in the academic world, is currently visiting us here at Tel Aviv University.
Romer is here to take part in the inauguration of a new program by the Faculty of Social Sciences in Tel Aviv University, the International Graduate School for Social Sciences, which will bring together prominent researchers of various disciplines with our own curious students, to build the future generation of social scientists in Israel and the world.
“Prof. Romer is one of the world's most prominent economists. He gained his status by proving that investments in research and development are key to growth, which is the exact logic behind the new program and collaborations that we are in the midst of cultivating at Tel Aviv University,” says Prof. Itai Sened, Dean of the Faculty.
During his visit, Romer will engage in a variety of academic activities, including a special workshop for distinguished doctoral students (pictured), meetings with young faculty members, developing a program for the School’s distinguished doctoral students and more.
