Dr. Alon Yakter is a Senior Lecturer (Tenured) in the School of Political Science, Government, and International Relations at Tel Aviv University. Dr. Yakter’s research and teaching revolve around the dynamics and implications of intergroup relations, identities, attitudes, and conflict from a comparative perspective. He is particularly interested in complex and conflictual attitude structures and their implications for policy preferences, voting patterns, and support for conflict resolution. He is also interested in Israeli electoral politics and co-manages the Israeli National Election Study (INES) and the Peace Index survey projects.
Dr. Yakter completed his Ph.D. in political science at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and his B.A. and M.A. (summa cum laude) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His research has been funded by the Israel Science Foundation, the Horowitz Foundation for Social Policy, the University of Michigan's Center for European Studies, and Tel Aviv University’s Walter Lebach Institute. Dr. Yakter's work has been published or forthcoming in the British Journal of Political Science, Comparative Political Studies, European Journal of Political Research, Journal of Peace Research, Political Science Research and Methods, Public Opinion Quarterly, Journal of Conflict Resolution, and PS: Political Science & Politics.
